Our Mission

The mission of SBE is to maximize our clients potential as players, coaches and teams.  I take pride in my ability to meet players, coaches and teams where they are and help them maximize their potential that leverages my vast experiences with the youth, high school, college and professional level. 

I am passionate about taking a fundamentals based approach to the process of evaluating current needs, diagnosing areas to improve and executing a plan that is results focussed. Training the combination of basketball skill, IQ and understanding basketball concepts is at the forefront of everything we do; teaching the who, the how and the why.

Sobotka Basketball Education is the culmination of a basketball life fueled by a passion for sharing the game and thinking critically about how players, coaches, teams and communities can continue to grow their basketball life.

I have been involved with the game of basketball for most of my life.  My deep passion, dedication and love of the game started at a very young age as I wrote my first scouting report in 7th grade and have never looked back!​​ Raised by teachers, I was instilled with a lifelong love of learning and that has continued to this day; seeking out new ideas, plays, concepts, quotes and ways to motivate on the path to success.   SBE is about Education built from 30 years of unique perspective.

I am blessed to have played for some outstanding coaches, worked for and worked with some amazing basketball coaches and very lucky to have had some incredible mentors in basketball and life. I have also been extremely fortunate to coach some outstanding basketball players on and off the court.

It is my passion to help players, coaches and teams realize and maximize their full potential and share my love and knowledge of this amazing game.

      • 2014 Oregon 3A State Basketball Coach of the Year

    • Current Youth Ambassador Sherwood Basketball Organization

    • Currently owned by two Labradoodles
